I started my castle with a simple hexagonal shape:
Then added matching hexagonal towers:
Next, after extruding and subtracting the shapes, created a gate opening and began
working on the keep:
For contrast, I added a smooth dome shape to the keep, using cylinder shapes
to create windows:
After creating hexagonal turrets and some additional windows, I eliminated any overlapping geometry with the boolean union tool, and added a few final touches:
Keeping things simple for this first assignment helped me get a handle on the tools and to get oriented with the software. The largest hurdle was creating this on a Mac at home and getting used to slight differences in software settings. Overall a fun assignment, and I can't wait to learn more!
